This week was both Teacher Appreciation Week and Mother’s Day all in one. It seems only appropriate to take a week’s pause in our series on the #LearnForward family to honour the many hands that are holding a space for a child. If you are a mother, teacher, nurturer or caregiver of any kind…I take pause to consider that profound and miraculous space…the one you hold for a child.

For all who tremble at the babe’s entrance or dance with their delivery…
For all who are squeezed by the enormity in her eyes or brightened by his energy…
For all who are frightful at the hurt and know the aching empty arms…
For all who wait and yearn and reach…after a waning sun…
For all whose embers smoulder awaiting the bright, new dawn…
For all who connect, accept, dance…instruct, mold and create…
For all who burn the midnight oil of hope or are weakened by the frailties…
For all who pour out from cracked pots and toil with bloodied hands…
For all who have failed only to rise again, bruised but wholehearted…
If your hands are the petals that enfold the sacred and fragile heart of a child…
This moment…this pause…is tribute to you.
Chosen…The Creator chose a human to hold a child…He chose you…It is enough to know…it is enough…
Enough.
A “welcome”…open arms…let the little children come…
The footprints dance…the tears drop…the tumult continues…
Each day. Your heart, entwined with the heart of a child. Entwined.
Each day.
For the sake of a child…
Go on.
God bless you!
